Our church history reflects the immense power of faith.
In 1888, five Negro women stepped out on faith and started
this church. It was a bold and historic first step.
They embarked on a journey-perhaps unsure of their destination-but
steadfast in a commitment to God.
It is thus fitting that we acknowledge this history
and take yet another bold step and honor their legacy
while building for the future. We are beginning a 3-year
Lifestyle Capital Stewardship Campaign in the rich tradition
of faith building-at the heart of which is sacrificial
giving. The giving comes from being blessed by the Lord
many times over.
As it reads in Deuteronomy 6.11; And houses
full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and
wells digged, which thou digest not, vineyards and olive
trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt eaten
and be full; Then beware lest thou forget the Lord.
It is painstakingly clear that we need a new facility
to continue God's good work. Our spiritual and vibrant
community life has outgrown our physical space. Our
ministries need more room and our habitual 3 Sunday
services exemplify the need for a larger sanctuary.
Lastly, we need to build for the future generations
of Grace members.
Very shortly, you will be contacted by Campaign leaders
and invited to participate in prayer meetings related
to food, fun, fellowship, and sacrificial giving. This
giving will be indebted to the past while investing
in the future.
In Faithful Expectation,
